CTI Acquires Rail//Sys
Melbourne - March 12th 2009: Constraint Technologies (CTI) announced that it will acquire all the Intellectual Property of the Rail Timetabling software known as Rail//Sys from the former TMG International company. Under the terms of the agreement, signed this week, CTI will also acquire the ongoing business in rail timetabling and timetabling software from TTG Transportation Technology Pty Limited.
Rail//Sys is used within RailCorp (NSW) and Queensland Rail for planning and timetable creation. CTI plan to augment Rail//Sys with its proven optimization technology and further develop the product to provide capacity optimization, schedule recovery and crew rostering. In addition CTI is fully committed to further R&D, supporting all Rail//Sys customers and ongoing projects, and expanding the customer base.
Alan Dormer, General Manager of CTI, said "The rail industry is a key market for CTI and this acquisition is the first step in our plan to bring an integrated technology for capacity planning, capacity utilization, operations optimization and crew rostering to international customers".
Dale Coleman, Managing Director of TTG and TMG (now AusRail Technologies) said "The sale was aimed at significantly strengthening the support and development for Rail//Sys in the Australian and Global markets, and would allow TTG to focus on its energy optimization products and related business interests." Mr Coleman stressed that CTI and TTG would continue to work closely together in support of current and future customers.
